The Persephone Singers

The Persephone Singers is a select women's choir founded by Rachel Grantham in 1999. The conductor is Barbara Chamberlin and the accompanist is Cheryl Wishart.

The choir varies in number from 20 to 30 singers depending on enrolment after a successful audition. Repertoire ranges from traditional and contemporary folk songs to art music of every period in Western music beginning with the middle ages.

Rehearsals take place Monday evenings for one hour, from 6:00 to 7:00 at Whitehorse United Church. The group performs at various ceremonial and commemorative functions in addition to regular appearances with the Whitehorse Community Choir.
