Here is the schedule for upcoming Village Council meetings. Unless noted, all meetings are at 7 pm Wednesdays in Council Chambers:

If you would like to attend the Council Meeting as a delegation, please contact Colin Dean by noon the Thursday before at 634-2291.

1998 Dog Tags are mandatory and are now available at the Village Office. $5 for spayed or neutered dogs, $25 for dogs not spayed or not neutered. Be sure to pick up yours today! Also, local streets are now being patrolled regularly by the Animal Control Officer.

PUBLIC WORKS NEWS

THANK YOU to Public Works for your long hours when you restored the water system after it failed on December 18!

TOURISM & CONVENTION CENTRE UPDATE
* The lighting and sound system for the Grand Hall is currently being installed.

* Johnson Contracting is scheduled to complete the Village Offices, Council Chambers and EMO Office by early February.


* Please avoid using scotch tape, thumbtacks or pins to put up posters in the new building. We would be glad to supply all the FunTak that you need!


VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

ARTS CENTRE OUTREACH

Are you interested in taking a painting workshop this March with Virginia Cuppaidge, an Australian painter from New York? She is known for her bright, large scale abstract oil paintings and has taught art at Lehman College in the Bronx and the Victor D'Amico Institute of Art. Monday, February 2 is the deadline to apply for ACTIVE LIVING/GO FOR GREEN grants. If you have a project that promotes healthy activities and environmental awareness, then apply to the Recreation & Parks Association of the Yukon - 668-3010.


COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Monday, February 16 is the next deadline to apply for COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND grants for funding requests less than $20,000. Please contact the Village Office for application forms. We even have the application form on computer disk!
