contest is open to residents of Haines Junction and the surrounding area.
Just write your suggestion on a piece of paper with your name & phone
number, and submit it to the Village Office by MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15. Village
Council will be choosing the winning name at their meeting on Wednesday,
September 24.
The prizes for the name chosen will be:
- The Village will pay for one free admission to all the public events at
the Centre in 1998.
- The Village will dedicate one seat in the Centre with the winner's name
on it.
MORE ON THE CENTRE . . .

fascia, soffit and atrium framing are planned for June and July.
OWN YOUR OWN SEAT AT THE CENTRE!
Here's an opportunity for you to participate in Haines Junction's Centennial
Anniversaries Project and have a permanent reminder of your contribution
to our community. We invite all residents, businesses and organizations
in Haines Junction and the rest of the Yukon to purchase seats in the new
Tourism & Convention Centre. In return for these donations, your name
will be mounted on each seat for all to see. You will also receive a certificate
recognizing your donation, as well as a tax receipt showing your charitable
donation.
Here are the options:
Two Seats: $1,016

We will also accept individual donations of $101.60. There is room for up
to 5 names on each seat plaque, so you can either submit 5 names with the
